PORT AUTHORITY WINTER STORM UPDATE

Here are the conditions at the Port Authority facilities as of 4 p.m. on February 14, 2007:

AT THE PORT AUTHORITY AIRPORTS:

  • John F. Kennedy International Airport is experiencing scattered delays on arrivals and departures. Hundreds of cancellations have been reported by the airlines.

  • LaGuardia Airport is experiencing approximately 30-45 minute delays on arrivals and departures. Hundreds of cancellations reported by the airlines. Long lines at the American Airline counter.

  • Newark Liberty International Airport is experiencing approximately 45-60 minutes on arrivals and scattered delays on departures. Hundreds of cancellations reported by the airlines.

  • AirTrain JFK is operating normally at this time.

  • AirTrain EWR is STILL shutdown between station P4 and the rail link station. Operations is using shuttle buses in those areas.

    AT THE PORT AUTHORITY BRIDGES AND TUNNELS:

    George Washington Bridge, Lincoln and Holland tunnels and Staten Island crossings are operating normally. Conditions are causing no adverse impact on operations but the GWB still has a 35-mph speed restriction in place and the speed limit at the SIB is still reduced to 25-mph. Traffic is light at all the crossings. There are occaisional traffic holds at both bridges, which give crews an opportunity to plow the snow and ice.

    ON THE PORT AUTHORITY PATH SYSTEM:

  • All lines are operating normally at this time.
  • AT THE PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERMINAL:

  • All carriers heading north of the city have temporarily suspended service, including: Greyhound, Trailways,Bonanza, Peter Pan and Shortline. Greyhound has announced that they will commence service to points north beginning around 0700 tomorrow. Each individual carrier will make determination for resumption of service. Passengers are strongly advised to contact their individual carrier for the status of their departure.
