Ride AirTrain free within the airport All AirTrain rides within the airport are free, so if you only use AirTrain to connect between the airline terminals, parking, hotel shuttles, and rental car facilities, there's no fee to pay and no ticket is required. Unlimited Ride MetroCard for AirTrain There are two Unlimited Ride MetroCards for AirTrain, a 30-day MetroCard and a Monthly MetroCard. Each of the Unlimited Ride MetroCards for AirTrain allows you to ride all you want for just $40. The 30-day MetroCard for AirTrain is valid on the first day of use and expires at midnight on the 30th day of use. It can be purchased at MetroCard Vending Machines with the AirTrain logo located in Howard Beach and Jamaica stations and at MetroCard vendors in and around the airport. The Monthly MetroCard for AirTrain is valid for a calendar month and is available on the back of a monthly LIRR ticket. It can be purchased only at LIRR ticket machines with the AirTrain logo located at the exit to the AirTrain station in Jamaica. The Unlimited Ride MetroCard for AirTrain cannot be used again at the same AirTrain station for 18 minutes. It will work only at the AirTrain fare gates in Howard Beach and Jamaica stations. It cannot be combined with any other MetroCard, so if you use the subway or local bus, you will need another MetroCard to pay the subway or bus fare.
