Vending Machines and QuickCard Sales

Why has PATH installed new vending machines in its stations?
PATH has installed new vending machines as part of our new fare collection system. This system includes new turnstiles, which have already been installed in all PATH stations system-wide, and concludes with the introduction of the SmartLink Card later this year.
Why don't PATH vending machines sell QuickCard?
PATH will phase out QuickCard once the SmartLink Card is introduced. Until then, QuickCards are still available at NJ Transit ticket vending machines and at QuickCard vendors in or near PATH stations. Click here for a list of these vendors.
What do PATH vending machines sell?
The larger vending machines, which accept cash, credit and debit/ATM cards, currently sell the PATH SingleRide Ticket, which is valid at PATH stations for two hours from the time of purchase, as well as the Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard, which is accepted at all PATH turnstiles.
The smaller vending machines ONLY accept credit and debit cards for payment, and ONLY sell the Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard.
What tickets do PATH turnstiles accept?
Can I use my MetroCard in the turnstiles?
PATH turnstiles accept the PATH QuickCard, PATH SingleRide Ticket, and Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard. PATH turnstiles do not accept MTA SingleRide tickets or any Unlimited Ride MetroCard.
How can I buy a round-trip PATH Ticket from a PATH vending machine?
Purchase a $3.00 MetroCard at a PATH vending machine for round-trip travel on PATH.
Where can I get help with my QuickCard?
If you have questions or need help with a QuickCard, look for a PATH agent wearing a red jacket, pick up a Passenger Assistance Telephone or call us at 1-800-234-PATH/7284.
How can I get help with a MetroCard?
Customers experiencing difficulties with their MetroCard should call (212) 638-7622 (within New York City), or 1-800-METROCARD/638-7622 (outside New York City) for assistance.
Please treat your QuickCard or MetroCard as you would cash, as we DO NOT provide replacements for a lost or stolen QuickCard or MetroCard.
