To obtain ground transportation information, please visit the Port Authority Welcome Center located in the arrivals area of each terminal, where uniformed staff will be happy to assist you. Ignore non-uniformed people offering to assist with baggage. Seek out uniformed porters or airline employees for baggage assistance..

Important Tips:

Tipping is customary for good service.
During weekday rush hours - mornings (6AM to 9AM) and afternoons (4PM to 7PM) and on weekends (Saturday and Sunday from 12PM to 8PM) - there is an additional $5 surcharge to all points in the State of New York, except Staten Island.
It is unlawful for an owner or driver of a taxicab to charge or cause to be charged, except as hereinafter provided, a greater sum for the use of a cab than in acordance with the rate schedule of fares for service from Newark Liberty International Airport when conveying one or more persons (in the same group) to any point in any municipalilty in New Jersey other than those specified in special areas and to any point in New York City, excluding tolls.
Round trip tolls are not included in quoted fare.
There is an additional charge for each piece of baggage over 24 inches.
There is a 10% senior citizen discount (62 years and older) upon presentation of proper identifidation.

Group Ride Rates (depending on the number of passengers): LaGuardia fares range from $26 to $42, JFK International fares range from $34 to $48. Battery Park to 34th Street in Manhattan - fares range from $18 to $26 (depending on Manhattan zone).

* There is an additional $5 charge for all destinations on the East Side of Manhattan between Battery Park and 185th St.

Reservations for shared-ride van and private car services can be made at the Port Authority Welcome Center located on the Arrivals level of each terminal. If the center is closed, there is a convenient self-service kiosk nearby where you can contact authorized shared-ride or private car services.
