Getting to and from JFK on AirTrain is fast and easy. You can travel to Manhattan's Penn Station on the Long Island Rail Road in about 35 minutes and to most parts of New York City on the subway in about an hour. AirTrain JFK runs twenty-four hours a day, every day.
Three AirTrain JFK lines stop at every terminal:
The All Terminals Train arrives approximately every ten minutes, taking about two minutes between stops.

On this line, trains stop at Lefferts Boulevard and Federal Circle Station.

From the west side of lower Manhattan or the Financial District, board an A train in the NYC Transit subway system for travel to Howard Beach Station at JFK. The A train stops at Howard Beach every 5 to 10 minutes during rush hours and every 15 to 20 minutes evenings and weekends. Be sure to take the train marked "Far Rockaway."
If you're leaving from midtown Manhattan, take an E train for cheaper travel to Jamaica Station. The trains run every 5 to 10 minutes during rush hours and 8 to 12 minutes evenings and weekends. E trains stop at the Sutphin Boulevard station where you connect to the AirTrain Jamaica stop. For faster travel, take the LIRR from NY Penn Station at W. 34 Street and disembark at Jamaica Station.
From 125 Street and other locations in upper Manhattan, travel by subway to midtown and board an E train for cheaper travel. For faster travel, take the LIRR from NY Penn Station at W. 34 Street and disembark at Jamaica Station.
