Vol. 5, No. 5, December 2011
Port Authority Announces Airport Investments
More than $200 million worth of infrastructure investments at Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia, and Stewart International will improve the movement of planes, passengers and baggage, helping to reduce delays.

A multimillion-dollar terminal expansion at SWF will increase the facility’s size by more than 30,000 square feet and allow the airport to eventually handle more than one million passengers annually. Runways at Newark Liberty and Kennedy will undergo state-of-good-repair rehabilitation; and in-line baggage screening systems will be installed at LaGuardia and Kennedy to improve the efficiency of U.S. Transportation Security Administration operations.
