When and where
do I purchase an AirTrain ticket?
A: You must purchase a ticket prior to riding
NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak
trains. When you purchase your NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak ticket to or from Newark
Liberty International Airport Train Station, an AirTrain fee is included
in the total cost of your ticket. Therefore, you will receive one ticket
for both services.
You can purchase a NJ TRANSIT ticket at the entrance to the AirTrain station
in each airline terminal, at the Ground Transportation Center at Terminal
C, or you can purchase either a NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak ticket at most NJ TRANSIT
and Amtrak stations, including Newark Liberty International Airport Train
Station. For more information, visit Cost
& Tickets.

How much does it cost to take AirTrain?
A: When you use AirTrain at the airport as a connection between airline
terminals, parking lots, rental car facilities, and hotel courtesy vehicles,
there is no fee. There is a fee only when you transfer to or from NJ
TRANSIT and Amtrak
trains at the Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station, and that
fee is included in the total cost of your ticket to or from the station.
If you already have a NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak ticket, including a commuter
weekly or monthly ticket, to a destination past the Newark Liberty International
Airport Train Station, you may use it to get to or from the station. However,
you will also need to purchase a separate $5 NJ TRANSIT ticket to go through
the fare gates at the station. This ticket is available only from ticket
machines located within the airport train station.

Where can I find an AirTrain
schedule?
A: Good news: AirTrain doesn’t have an extensive train schedule.
It simply runs every three minutes from 5:00 am to midnight and every fifteen
minutes thereafter until 5:00 am. However, please note that all connecting
trains such as NJ
TRANSIT and Amtrak
do have specific schedules. Be sure to check their schedules in order to
make the connection and estimate your travel time.

on which one you’re flying out of.
