Bayonne Bridge Planned Weekly Construction

BAYONNE BRIDGE TO CLOSE THIS WEEKEND FOR ONGOING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Date: Jun 22, 2017

The Bayonne Bridge will be closed this weekend – from 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 23, through 5 a.m. Monday, June 26 – to accommodate ongoing construction work on the crossing.

To accommodate a major concrete pour for the southbound half of the main bridge deck, which requires numerous concrete truck deliveries, traffic on the Bayonne side of the crossing will be diverted at 5th Street between 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 23, and 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24. After that time, traffic will be diverted at Avenue A during the remainder of the bridge closing.

Once the bridge opens at 5 a.m. Monday, June 26, it will remain open until its standard 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily overnight closing.
