Information Counters: Ground Transportation Information counters, are located on the lower baggage claim level of all terminals. Uniformed agents provide information and reservations for buses, AirTrain, shared-ride vans and limousines. Self-service phones are available when counter is not staffed. Air Ride: For up-to-date information toll-free in the continental U.S. and Canada, call 1-800-AIRRIDE. Live operators available 9AM-6PM EST, Monday through Friday. Recorded information available at all other times via touch-tone phone.
Taxis: Follow the "Taxis" signs. For your own safety, use uniformed taxi dispatchers to get a taxi. See map above for locations. Dispatchers are available during peak hours and will provide fare information. Taxis at JFK are yellow and have medallion shields on the hood and medallion numbers on the roof.
Safety Tips:
- Ignore offers of transportation from solicitors in the terminal.
- Go to ground transportation information counters, bus stops, and taxi dispatchers for safe and legitimate transportation.
- Ignore non-uniformed persons offering to assist with baggage.
- Seek out uniformed porters or airline employees for baggage assistance.
Car Rentals: Car rental desks or courtesy telephones are available in all terminals for major rental car companies. Courtesy transportation is available to rental office or to pick up a reserved car. See map.
