The Port Authority has a long-standing practice of making its contract opportunities available to as many firms as possible and has taken affirmative steps to encourage Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women's Business Enterprises (WBEs) to seek business opportunities with it.

The Engineering Department's online Directory of Qualified M/W/SBE Construction Contractors contains listings of firms that are registered for solicitation under the Port Authority's M/W/SBE Set Aside Program or to assist prime contractors in meeting and exceeding their Good Faith Subcontracting Goals.
