Application for certification

Set-Aside Program

The Port Authority reserves certain contracts for construction, goods, and services, Technical Advisory, and operations services to be bid out only to New York or New Jersey Port Authority Certified MWSDBE'S.

Construction contracts valued under $500,000 are considered for MWBE, and those at or above $500,000 may be set aside for MWSBE with experience on contracts of that value.

Price Preference Program

Certain commodity and service contracts, a price preference may be offered to certified MWSBE’s firms in New York or New Jersey. A firm may receive the contract even though their bid exceeds the lowest bid by 10% for MWDBE’s and 5% for SBE.

Subcontracting Program

Port Authority contracts with “Prime” contractors to ensure a single entity is completing the work.  However, these contracts provide good faith contracting to Port Authority Certified-MWSBE's. Because of registration in our database, your firm's name is available to other contractors to invite you to participate, to meet their MWSDBE subcontracting goal

Janitorial Maintenance SBE Program

The Janitorial Maintenance SBE program allows for certified JMSBEs the opportunity to compete for contracts of similar size and scope. The firm must complete the prequalification process. If the firm is eligible they may begin to submit bids for future cleaning contracts.
