Project Description
In the aftermath of September 11th, the tunnels were flooded for forty days. As a result all tunnel components (fiber optic cables, conduits, pipes, lighting, as well as ductbanks, track, contact rail and ballast) needed to be replaced. These components were removed from both tunnels and replaced prior to construction for PATH service to be restored to lower Manhattan.
