PORT AUTHORITY WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR OF PORT COMMERCE

Effective July 27, 2015, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will welcome a new Director of Port Commerce.

Molly Campbell was selected through a competitive nationwide search. Ms. Campbell brings over 15 years of leadership in the maritime industry to her new post, with expertise in global logistics, maritime enterprise business strategy, and financial management. Her record of positions and responsibilities illustrates a strong and ever-increasing commitment to public service.

After serving seven years as Chief Financial Officer for the Port of Los Angeles (POLA), Ms. Campbell was promoted to Deputy Executive Director in January 2007. In the latter position, she was responsible for day-to-day administration of the nation’s busiest port complex.

During her tenure, she was responsible for operations and maintenance, management of the POLA’s annual operating and capital budgets, and key strategic development projects, including the financing of Pier 400, the POLA’s largest terminal, and the development of the POLA’s Clean Truck Program.

Most recently, Ms. Campbell served as Director of Financial Management Systems at Los Angeles World Airports for the City of Los Angeles, where she provided strategic direction for airport wide financial and revenue management, as well as enterprise business planning.

In addition to her diverse background in public transportation, she also played active roles in national and international logistics associations, including Chair of the American Association of Port Authorities Maritime Economic Development Committee, and Vice Chair of the Finance Committee for the International Association of Ports and Harbors.

As the Port Authority’s new Director of Port Commerce, Ms. Campbell will oversee all aspects of the agency’s port operation, including facility maintenance, capital programs, environmental initiatives, port performance, and other special projects dedicated to the continued sustainability and modernization of the region’s port infrastructure. She will also be responsible for the Port’s relationships with stakeholders in the maritime industry, including operators of the agency’s marine terminals and Cross Harbor Freight Program, intermodal and trucking partners, national and international logistics business cargo owners, and leaders in port operations across the globe.
