TRAVEL ADVISORY - GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE TOLL PLAZA MAINTENANCE

Date: Jun 13, 2008
Press Release Number: 58-2008

Roadway striping on the upper-level toll plaza will take place from 11 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, until 5 a.m. on Friday, June 13. If necessary, the maintenance project will resume during the same hours on Friday into Saturday morning. The project will require up to 50 percent of the toll plaza to be closed.

The lower level, typically E-ZPass only, will have cash lanes open.

The work is expected to cause eastbound delays and local Fort Lee congestion.

For additional information, customers can call the Port Authority at 800 221-9903.

The paving project is part of the Port Authority’s $1.3 billion, 10-year capital investment in the bridge to keep it safe and in a state of good repair. The bridge deck was last paved in 1997.
