MEMORIAL SERVICE SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, OCTOBER 22 FOR PORT AUTHORITY BOARD SECRETARY DANIEL BERGSTEIN

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 22, for Daniel Bergstein, the Secretary of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Mr. Bergstein, 38, of Teaneck, N.J., was among 74 agency employees confirmed dead or missing following the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center.
The service for Mr. Bergstein will be held at 6 p.m. at St. Paul’s Chapel on the campus of Columbia University, 117th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, New York.
Mr. Bergstein had worked for the Port Authority for 17 years beginning after his graduation from Columbia University. He was hired as an industrial engineer and rose to become Secretary of the Port Authority, serving as the chief liaison between agency staff and its Board of Commissioners. He is survived by his wife, Alicia, and two children, Devin and Adrianna.
