New PATH Cars Part of Multibillion Modernization Program for the Rail System
Governor Jon Corzine will join Port Authority officials on Friday, July 10, at 12:30 p.m. to officially launch the start of passenger service on the new PATH cars. The cars are the first of 340 that will be put into passenger service on the system by 2011.
WHO: Governor Jon Corzine, Port Authority Chairman Anthony Coscia, Port Authority Deputy Executive Director Susan Bass Levin, and elected officials.
WHAT: Launch of passenger revenue service for the new PATH cars.
WHEN: 12:30 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2009.
WHERE: PATH’s Journal Square Station, Jersey City, NJ. A speaking program will be conducted at the station. After the speaking program, the train of new rail cars will depart Journal Square for the approximately 10-minute ride to Hoboken. Media are welcome to ride the train, which will return to Journal Square soon after arriving in Hoboken.
