Press Release Number: 110-2011
The Port Authority announced today that it will provide extra PATH service to the World Trade Center on 9/11 to accommodate those traveling to and from memorial ceremonies at the site and in other parts of Manhattan.
PATH will run 5-minute service on the Newark to World Trade Center line starting at 5 a.m. on 9/11, which is more frequent than normal Sunday PATH service.
However, PATH passengers should plan for suspended service to and from the World Trade Center and restricted access to the WTC Path Station from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. due to the September 11 ceremony at the World Trade Center site.
During times that the PATH service to the World Trade Center is suspended, customers are advised to use the Journal Square to 33rd Street via Hoboken Service to connect with New York City subway service at 14th Street to reach Lower Manhattan.
Once PATH service resumes, it will operate at an increased level as demanded throughout the day. Any changes to the schedule on September 11 will be announced on PATHVision and through train information screens.
