The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will hold an event to mark the final, new PATH train entering into service at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 31, completing a three-year replacement of the mass-transit line’s entire 340-car fleet.
Port Authority Deputy Executive Director Bill Baroni, Director and General Manager of PATH Mike DePallo and local officials will ride the new PATH car and hold a press conference to commemorate the new rail cars. PATH rail cars dating to the ‘80s, ‘70s and ‘60s have been replaced by this program, which has phased in the new cars since 2009.
