The Port Authority Police Department will hold a press conference today, December 20, to announce a major arrest in a well-publicized case involving a 37-year-old New Jersey woman who was violently attacked in the 9th Street PATH Station during an attempted robbery of her iPhone on October 1. The conference will begin at noon at the Journal Square PATH Station, corner of JFK Boulevard and Pavonia Boulevard, in Jersey City, N.J.
During the incident, which occurred shortly before midnight, the suspect tried to rip the iPhone out of the woman’s hands, but she resisted and maintained control of the phone. The suspect punched the victim, knocking her to the ground, and then fled the station. Video of the incident was released to the media after the attack.
