MEDIA ADVISORY - PARTIAL AIRTRAIN JFK SERVICE IN PLACE THIS WEEKEND

Date: Jan 24, 2014
Press Release Number: 22-2014

Work continuing to restore full service after cable fire knocked out system’s power and communications

Travelers at John F. Kennedy International Airport should leave extra time for shuttle bus travel between AirTrain JFK’s Federal Circle station and the terminals, due to ongoing work to fix damage caused by a cable fire this week.

Service has been restored from the Jamaica and Howard Beach mass-transit stations to Federal Circle, where the buses are available. Buses at the terminals will bring returning travelers back to the Jamaica and Howard Beach stations.

During this time, route information will appear on buses’ electronic signs. Wait times will be minimized by increasing bus service during peak travel hours. Additional JFK Customer Care Agents and other PA staff will be on duty to provide enhanced information for passengers until full service is restored.
