MEDIA ADVISORY - ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER SPIRE WILL SHINE ORANGE AND GREEN FOR SUPER BOWL XLVIII

The Port Authority of NY & NJ and The Durst Organization will light the spire atop One World Trade Center to welcome the AFC Champion Denver Broncos, NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks and the millions of fans coming to the region for Super Bowl XLVIII.

In coordination with the NFL’s unveiling of the roman numerals XLVIII on Super Bowl Boulevard in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday, January 29, the spire will be lit orange honoring the AFC Champion Denver Broncos and bright green honoring the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks. The team’s colors will alternate until the game’s conclusion, and then the winning team’s color will be seen across the entire metropolitan region.

What: Lighting spire atop One World Trade Center for Super Bowl XLXIII

When: Wednesday, January 29 from 6PM – midnight

Where: Recommended photo-op locations are 7th Avenue South (west side of the avenue) and Christopher Street, south east corner West Broadway and Lispendard Street, or anywhere in the Metro area where you can see One WTC

One WTC stands a symbolic 1,776 feet high and is the tallest structure in the Western Hemisphere. It features three million square feet of Class A office space and a state-of-the-art observation deck that is being developed and operated by Legends Hospitality. Its tenants include publishing giant Condé Nast, Vantone China Center and the U.S. General Services Administration. The building is designed to be one of the safest commercial structures in the world, and will be one of the most sustainable office buildings of its size with a LEED Gold certification.
