JERSEY CITY STUDENT WINS PATH’S HOLIDAY POSTER CONTEST - Fourth Grader to be Honored During Event at Noon on Tuesday, December 10

A Jersey City fourth grader captured top honors in PATH’s annual holiday poster contest, and the artwork will be on display aboard the system’s trains used by 180,000 daily passengers.

The winning poster, created by Yameen Arshad of P.S. 27, will be installed in a decorated PATH car at the Journal Square Transportation Center in Jersey City at noon on Tuesday, December 10. The station is located on Kennedy Boulevard between Pavonia and Sip avenues.

PATH Director/General Manager Michael P. DePallo and Jersey City public school representatives will honor Yameen and the second and third place winners – Frances Padua, an eighth grader at P.S. 28, and Anthony Juarez, an eighth grader at P.S. 27. More than 400 pieces of art were submitted by Jersey City school children to the contest. The winning students will receive gift certificates for art supplies, tickets to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and round-trip PATH QuickCards for their trip.
