TRAVEL ADVISORY - SECOND RUNWAY AT LAGUARDIA AIRPORT HAS REOPENED. PASSENGERS STILL ADVISED TO CONTACT CARRIERS FOR UPDATED FLIGHT INFORMATION

Date: Oct 28, 2016
Press Release Number: 209-2016

Both of LaGuardia Airport's runways are now open, after crews worked through the night to remove a plane that was disabled after it left the end of one runway last night.

There were no injuries and all passengers were evacuated without incident.

Passengers, however, are still advised to contact their airlines this morning for the latest status of their flights and any residual delays before coming to LaGuardia.

One of the two airport runways reopened soon after the incident to inbound and departing flights.
