MEDIA ADVISORY - PORT AUTHORITY TO CONDUCT EMERGENCY RESPONSE EXERCISE AT LAGUARDIA AIRPORT ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7; NO IMPACT ON FLIGHT OPERATIONS ANTICIPATED

Date: Oct 06, 2017
Press Release Number: 188-2017

The Port Authority Airport Rescue and Firefighting unit (ARFF), in conjunction with the New York City Fire Department, will conduct an emergency response exercise at LaGuardia Airport from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, October 7, throughout the active airport operations area, including runways.

Passengers, motorists and other members of the public may notice an increased police presence inside and outside the facility before and during the drill, but it is expected to have no impact on airline flight operations.

Saturday's exercise is designed to test the airport's emergency plan for mutual aid response, enabling airport personnel and the FDNY to train together and validate response procedures. The exercise will include members of the Port Authority Police Department, Port Authority ARFF, and the FDNY.
