New Jersey Governor James E. McGreevey will join Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works John P. Woodley Jr., and representatives from the Port Authority and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Friday, May 28, to launch a major multi-billion dollar project that will greatly improve the ability of the Port of New York and New Jersey to handle future cargo growth, which will result in significant job growth and increased economic activity for the region.
The event will be held at 1 p.m. at Berth 50 at the Elizabeth-Port Authority Marine Terminal in Elizabeth, N.J. Media attending the event must arrive no later than 12:45 p.m. due to security reasons, and must have proper media credentials.
Directions to Berth 50: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 14, Port Newark. Bear left after the toll plaza and follow signs for Port Newark. Proceed through the traffic light. Follow signs for Corbin Street. Bear right onto Corbin Street Bridge. Continue for one-half mile after the third traffic light (Tyler Street), and turn left into Berth 50. Parking is inside the second fence.
