MEDIA ADVISORY - REBUILDING OF WORLD TRADE CENTER SITE TO BEGIN WITH JULY 4 GROUNDBREAKING FOR FREEDOM TOWER

New York Governor George E. Pataki, New Jersey Governor James E. McGreevey and New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will preside over a historic ceremony at 10 a.m. on July 4 to break ground for the Freedom Tower at the World Trade Center site.

During the ceremony, the cornerstone for the Freedom Tower, the 1,776-foot tower that will serve as the new centerpiece for the Trade Center site, will be laid.

Media covering the event must have proper credentials. On the day of the event, media must enter the site between 8 and 9:30 a.m. at the gate at the corner of West and Vesey streets. The gates will be closed at 9:30 a.m. until the conclusion of the event.

Media interested in televising the event live can pick up a feed provided by NY1. The NY1 feed will go out over the switch and/or waterfront.
