Dancing dragons and lions will ring in the Lunar New Year at Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday, February 10. Performances of the dance to wake up the lion will take place at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Terminal B.
The Tak Wah Eng Kung Fu Club will treat travelers to an Asian ritual that has taken place annually for the past 4,703 years, as colorfully costumed Kung Fu practitioners play traditional drums and perform martial arts maneuvers while dancing through the terminal.
On the Lunar Calendar, this is the Year of the Rooster. Those born in the Year of the Rooster are said to be confident, self-reliant and independent. Rooster celebrities include Alex Haley, Michelle Pfeiffer and Gloria Estefan.
