The Port Authority will dedicate a temporary memorial at the World Trade Center site to the victims of the 1993 bombing on Saturday, February 26. The memorial will replace the granite fountain memorial destroyed on September 11, 2001. The Port Authority will mark this solemn occasion with a mass for the victims of the 1993 attack on Saturday, February 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, at the corner of Barclay and Church streets, Manhattan. The mass will be followed by a moment of silence at the World Trade Center site in the family viewing area at 12:18 p.m., the exact time of the bombing. The dedication ceremony will follow the moment of silence.
Media wishing to attend the mass should arrive at the church by 10 a.m. Media wishing to attend the dedication will board a bus at St. Peter’s Church and will be escorted to the site. Family members will be available for interviews after the dedication ceremony. Media should contact the Port Authority’s Public Affairs Department in advance. Media must bring press credentials to the service and dedication.
