The Port Authority will unveil the design for its new fleet of 340 rail cars at a news conference at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 27. Agency officials also will discuss more than $3 billion in investments to upgrade the service provided by the 43-year-old rapid-transit system.
The news conference will be held on the concourse level of the Exchange Place PATH Station on Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City, N.J.
The cars are being designed and built by Kawasaki Rail Car Inc. under a $499 million contract.
