New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine will join Port Authority Chairman Anthony R. Coscia and private sector leaders on Monday, December 18, to announce and discuss the recommendations of a task force formed to identify critical port and cargo security initiatives.
The task force recommendations will be used to increase awareness of the need to enhance the security of the nation’s 361 ports and to foster public discussion on the issue.
The event will be held at 10 a.m. at the APM Terminal at the New Jersey Marine Terminals in Elizabeth, N.J. Media attending the event must arrive by 9:45 a.m. to gain entrance and must have proper media credentials.
Directions to APM Terminal: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 13A. Follow the signs for the Elizabeth Seaport/North Avenue East. Cross bridge over turnpike and proceed through the next traffic light. After the light, North Avenue becomes McLester Street on the Elizabeth-Port Authority Marine Terminal. After going through the first light on McLester Street, the APM Terminal will be on the right. Use the second entrance on the right for Visitors/Employees. Stop at guard booth for further instructions.
