PORT AUTHORITY BOARD TAKES ACTION ON SEVERAL ITEMS

At its monthly meeting this afternoon, the Port Authority Board of Commissioners took the following actions:
Authorized a project for the Railcar and Signal System Replacement Program - PATH Signal Project, which includes the purchase and installation of a service-proven Automatic Train Control (ATC) system. A Request For Proposals (RFP) process will be initiated under this authorization.
Authorized 1 World Trade Center LLC to enter into an agreement with Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. for a three-year term to provide real estate brokerage and related services for 1 World Trade Center, the Freedom Tower.
Authorized a Regional Goods Movement Program that includes the development of a comprehensive long-term goods movement plan and the assumption of local sponsorship of the Environmental Impact Statement for the Cross Harbor Freight Movement Project. Authorized the implementation of a labor harmony policy at all Port Authority airports.
Authorized 1 World Trade Center LLC to enter into a construction trade contract for below-grade miscellaneous iron for 1 World Trade Center, the Freedom Tower at a total amount of $1.5 million.
Authorized a five-year lease with Flyjet Limited, doing business as Silverjet, for approximately 6,000 square feet of space for use of a first-class lounge in Terminal B at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Authorized an agreement with the Regional Alliance for Small Contractors, Inc., for the Port Authority to obtain professional services to increase the capacity of minority-owned, women-owned and small businesses to bid on and perform public contracts.
Authorized an agreement to reimburse the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center for the purchase, storage and installation of trees for the design of the sidewalk areas around the World Trade Center Memorial site.
Authorized the Executive Director to enter into agreements with other governmental entities in connection with federal, state or local requirements for security and life safety initiatives and programs.
Authorized a lease supplement with Trinity Centre LLC for 61,180 square feet of space at 115 Broadway in Lower Manhattan to provide additional space for staff working on the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site.
Authorized a lease agreement with Abacus Federal Savings Bank for 9,990 square feet of space at 116 Nassau Street in Lower Manhattan to provide space for staff working on the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site.
The Committee on Finance authorized the purchase of public liability insurance for all Port Authority facilities and its wholly owned entities for a one-year period through an existing brokerage arrangement with Marsh USA, Inc., at an estimated premium cost of $27 million.
