PHOTO OPPORTUNITY - PORT AUTHORITY TO MOVE WORLD TRADE CENTER STAIRCASE TO ALLOW SITE REBUILDING TO MOVE FORWARD

The so-called Survivor’s Staircase, the last remaining aboveground World Trade Center remnant from 9/11, will be moved from its current location at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 9. The staircase will be moved temporarily to a location along Vesey Street at Greenwich Street until it can be installed in the World Trade Center Memorial Museum.
Media will be allowed to film the staircase move between 10 and 11 a.m. from the roof of the World Trade Center PATH Station. No media interviews will be allowed at this time.
At the conclusion of the photo opportunity, representatives from the Port Authority, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center, and national and local preservation groups will be available outside the fence behind the entrance to the World Trade Center PATH Station to answer questions.
Media interested in filming the staircase move should enter the site at Gate 10 – located on Church Street behind the entrance to the World Trade Center PATH Station – no later than 9:45 a.m. Media credentials will be required to enter the site.
