MEDIA ADVISORY - PHOTO-OP - PORT AUTHORITY LIGHTS JFK CONTROL TOWER BLUE TO COMMEMORATE YANKEES WORLD SERIES WIN

Date: Nov 05, 2009
Press Release Number: 139-2009

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey will honor the New York Yankees and their 27th World Series win by lighting a portion of the John F. Kennedy International Airport in Yankees Blue.  Beginning the evening of November 5, as the sun starts to set, travelers at the airport and local residents alike will find the exterior of the New York-JFK air traffic control tower adorned in blue lights.

Last month, the Port Authority in collaboration with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation participated in a kick-off event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by bathing the air traffic control tower in pink.

Media interested in filming the commemorative air traffic control tower will be directed to the Red Parking Lot across from the American Airlines Terminal at JFK. Please contact the Port Authority Media Relations Office at 212-435-7777 for clearance.
