MEDIA ADVISORY - THE BAY RUNWAY REOPENS AT JOHN F. KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ON TIME AND ON BUDGET

The Port Authority of NY & NJ along with the FAA and its airline partners reopen the bay runway after a 120-day closure for reconstruction and access improvements.

WHO: Port Authority Chairman Anthony Coscia, Port Authority Executive Director Chris Ward, Port Authority Deputy Executive Director Bill Baroni, a senior official from the FAA, CEO of Tutor Perini Jack Frost, representatives from the airlines and the project team.

WHAT: Ceremony marking the Bay Runway’s improvements and its return to passenger service.

WHERE: John F. Kennedy International Airport

Hangar 12, South Service Road

By car:  Parking is available in the lot adjacent to Hangar 12

By AirTrain:  A shuttle bus will leave from Federal Circle at 10:45 a.m.

WHEN: 11 a.m.. Tuesday, June 29, 2010

WHY: The Port Authority, in coordination with the FAA and airlines, announcing the reopening of our most heavily used and longest runway after four months.
