Statement From Joe Ramaglia, Business Manager, IUPAT District Council 9:

“We at IUPAT District Council 9 understand the pressure that a toll hike will put on commuters in the short term. However, having dealt with the issue of infrastructure maintenance and repair over the years, we have seen that it is much more expensive in the long run to ignore the state of repair of the bridges and other infrastructure. If a toll hike is used to fund capital projects and maintain infrastructure, we endorse such a plan as being fiscally prudent in the long run. If put off too long, millions can very easily turn into billions”.
