PORT AUTHORITY SUSPENDS AIRTRAIN SERVICE AT NEWARK AND JFK AIRPORTS, FAA TO SUSPEND FLIGHTS AT 3 MAJOR AIRPORTS NO LATER THAN 10:00PM

The Port Authority has announced that it has suspended Airtrain service at John F. Kennedy International and Newark Liberty International Airports as of 3:00PM today. Bus operations will continue as weather conditions permit.

In addition, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has stated it intends to suspend air traffic control services at three regional airports - John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, and LaGuardia airports - no later than 10:00PM tonight. Travelers are urged to contact their carriers prior to leaving for the airport.

The Port Authority is also preparing to implement bridge closures as wind conditions demand and encourages travelers to be prepared to use alternate routes.
