Date: Mar 15, 2012
Press Release Number: 36-2012

NEW YORK – Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Executive Director Patrick Foye and Deputy Executive Director Bill Baroni today issued the following statements on Prime Minister David Cameron’s visit to the World Trade Center site:

Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye
“On behalf of the Port Authority, I am honored to welcome British Prime Minister David Cameron and Mrs. Cameron to the World Trade Center site. Dozens of British nationals were murdered on September 11 and his visit today honors their memory as well as the thousands of others killed in cold blood that day. This site is significant not only to those in this region and country, but also to those around the globe as a place for revival, reflection and remembrance. Due to the efforts of many over the past ten years, this site now represents the courage and the resilience of those determined to rebuild after the unimaginable.”

Port Authority Deputy Executive Director Bill Baroni
"From the Twin Towers and the World Trade Center to the Underground and Tavistock Square, the people of the United States and Great Britain have suffered sorrow and shown resilience in the face of terror. The people of New York and New Jersey are honored to welcome Prime Minister and Mrs. Cameron to the World Trade Center to see how we at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are remembering all those we have lost and rebuilding for the future."
