The Port Authority will light the control tower at John F. Kennedy International Airport red for one week beginning today, May 13, to commemorate the 28th annual AIDS Walk New York, a major fundraiser held on May 19 to benefit GMHC and more than 40 other AIDS service organizations in the tri-state area.

GMHC is a not-for-profit, volunteer-supported community based organization dedicated to national leadership in the fight against AIDS. It provides prevention and care services to men, women and families that are living with, or affected by, HIV/AIDS in New York City. Since its inception 28 years ago, close to one million people have participated in the 6.2-mile walk, raising more than $128 million to combat HIV and AIDS.
