The Port Authority will conduct an emergency response full-scale exercise at LaGuardia Airport from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 22. The exercise will test the ability of emergency responders during a simulated accident of a passenger aircraft. The exercise will have no impact on flight operations, but airline passengers and motorists traveling on the Grand Central Parkway and on neighboring airport roadways may observe fake smoke during the drill.

The exercise will include members of the Port Authority Police Department, Port Authority Office of Emergency Management, LaGuardia Airport and Delta Airlines staff, New York City Fire and Police Departments, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Federal Aviation Administration, federal law enforcement agencies, and the U.S. Department of Transportation Security Administration among others.
