STATEMENT BY PORT AUTHORITY ON LEGAL ACTION FILED TODAY BY NYSA AND ILA ON PORT HIRING ISSUES

"During the past month, we have met regularly with the New York Shipping Association, Metropolitan Marine Maintenance Contractors Association, ILA and the Waterfront Commission in an effort to equitably resolve port hiring issues. Following the filing of today's legal action, we hope for a swift resolution of the matter in light of the number of jobs that are at risk and the billions of dollars invested in the port by our container terminal operator tenants and the Port Authority."
