TRAVEL ADVISORY - PORT AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES RETURN OF FREE WEEKEND BAYONNE BRIDGE SHUTTLE SERVICE ON FRIDAY, MAY 1

Shuttle will provide alternate transportation for pedestrians and cyclists who use the sidewalk during the Bayonne Bridge "Raise the Roadway" construction project

The Port Authority announced today that it will resume shuttle bus service on Friday, May 1, for pedestrians and cyclists looking to cross the Bayonne Bridge during the ongoing construction work.

The free service will operate Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m during May, including on holiday weekends and on weekends when daytime closures of the Bayonne Bridge are not scheduled.

Beginning in June and concluding in October 2015, due to scheduled weekend closures of the bridge, shuttle service will only be offered on Sundays from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m.

Shuttle Hours / Schedules / Map

Shuttles will run every 30 minutes and make two stops. One at the entrance to the Bayonne Bridge Administration Building Parking Lot in Staten Island, NY, and one at West 4th Street in Bayonne, NJ adjacent to the existing sidewalk staircase. The shuttles will be equipped with bike racks to accommodate cyclists.
