Date: Apr 12, 2001
Press Release Number: 63-2001

The pedestrian bridge that spans the Holland Tunnel Rotary, just outside the tunnel\'s Manhattan exit, will be closed for one month beginning Monday, April 16, for necessary repair work.
The project involves the replacement of the stairs and handrails, painting, repairs to the underside of the bridge, and installation of a snow-melting system on the bridge\'s stairs and landing.

The work will maintain the 40-year-old bridge in a state of good repair.

During the bridge closing, pedestrians will be asked to detour down Laight Street, Hudson Street and Erickson Place to get to the other side of Varick Street
