TRADITIONAL AND COLORFUL CHINESE NEW YEAR’S CELEBRATION WELCOMES THE YEAR OF THE RAM TO NEWARK LIBERTY AIRPORT

Dragons and lions will put on their dancing shoes to ring in the Chinese New Year at Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday, February 6, 2003. Performances will take place at noon and 1 p.m. in Terminal B.

Travelers will witness an ancient Asian ritual that has taken place annually for the past 4,701 years as colorfully costumed members of the Tak Wah Eng Kung Fu Club play traditional drums and perform martial arts while dancing through the terminal.

“This will be our fourth annual Chinese New Year Celebration,” said John Jacoby, Deputy General Manager of Newark Liberty International Airport. “This event is always well received by our customers. We are proud to help celebrate this popular international holiday at one of the world’s busiest international airports.”

News media covering the event should go to the entrance to gates 50-58 at Terminal B.
