LIMITED PARKING EXPECTED AT PORT AUTHORITY AIRPORTS DURING PRESIDENT’S DAY WEEKEND

Date: Feb 13, 2003
Press Release Number: 17-2003

Parking is expected to be limited this President’s Day weekend at John F. Kennedy International Airport due to increased passenger volumes, heightened security measures, and ongoing construction in the long-term parking lot.

Newark Liberty International and LaGuardia airports also expect parking lots and garages to fill up early due to increased passenger volumes and the loss of some parking spaces related to heightened security measures.

During peak holiday periods, the Port Authority recommends that travelers allow extra time when going to the airports, and also suggests travelers check with their airlines prior to leaving.
The agency also recommends that travelers have a friend or relative drop them off or pick them up at the airport, or seek alternate modes of transportation – including AirTrain Newark, shuttle vans, taxis, limousines or buses. Passengers can call 800 AIR-RIDE for information on transportation options and parking availability.
