PORT AUTHORITY’S AIRPORTS, BRIDGES, TUNNELS AND PATH SYSTEM RETURN TO NORMAL FOLLOWING RARE APRIL SNOWSTORM
Date: Apr 08, 2003
Press Release Number: 43-2003
Operations at the Port Authority’s airports, bridges, tunnels and PATH system returned to normal this morning following a rare springtime snowstorm that dumped between four and eight inches of snow on parts of the New York-New Jersey region on Monday.
The Port Authority’s three major airports – John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International and LaGuardia airports – are open this morning, and no delays or cancellations have been reported. However, as a precaution, travelers should not go to the airport before checking on the status of their flight with their carrier.
The agency’s four bridges and two tunnels linking New Jersey and New York are open with no restrictions.
There are no delays reported on the Port Authority’s PATH system.
Port Authority crews worked around the clock to ensure that its facilities would be cleared of snow by this morning’s rush hour.
