Press Release Number: 159-2003

Members of the Port Authority Police Department will hold a toy drive for underprivileged children on Thursday, December 11 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel located at 102 North End Avenue in Lower Manhattan, near the World Trade Center site.

Members of the public are invited to attend this event and are asked to bring along a new and unwrapped toy.

The toy drive is being organized by the “I’m Blessed Foundation,” which was formed following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center as a tribute to the memory of those who were tragically killed on September 11, 2001.

The foundation assists homeless families, children in foster care and they also provide educational materials for children between the ages of 4 to13. Last year’s toy drive led to the successful distribution of more than 1,100 toys to children throughout the New York City area.
