The Port Authority Police Department will hold a closing ceremony at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2004, as the department’s police academy officially vacates Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the Port Authority Police Department was granted temporary use of some of the university’s classroom space for the police force to train its officers and commanders.
Port Authority Police Superintendent/Public Safety Director Charles D. DeRienzo and other members of the department will present a plaque to Fairleigh Dickinson University President J. Michael Adams in appreciation of the university’s assistance.
The event will take place in the Edward Williams Building, 150 Kotte Place, on the Hackensack campus.
