James P. Fox, a 20-year veteran of state and federal public service, has been named Deputy Executive Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
\"I\'m honored to be joining the Port Authority during one of the most challenging and productive periods in the agency\'s long history,\" Mr. Fox said. \"I look forward to working with the talented people of the Port Authority to fulfill our mission of providing the highest quality and most efficient transportation facilities and services while strengthening the economic competitiveness of this region.\"
Mr. Fox most recently served as Chief of Staff for New Jersey Governor James E. McGreevey. Other positions he has held during his career include Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation; Chief of Staff to former U.S. Senator Robert G. Torricelli; Executive Director of the National Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee; Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the New Jersey State Senate; State Director for U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg; and Deputy Chief of Staff for former New Jersey Governor Jim Florio.
Mr. Fox graduated from Villanova University and participated in the State and Local Government Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He resides in Lambertville, N.J.
