The Port Authority Police Pipes and Drums will perform in St. Patrick’s Day parades this year in Hoboken, Union County, and Jersey City, N.J., New York City and Pearl River, N.Y.
On September 11, 2001, the Port Authority Police Department lost 37 officers and commanders in the terrorist attacks. Its officers patrol facilities operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, including some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the region.
On March 18, the award-winning band also will continue its tradition of playing festive St. Patrick’s Day music at Newark Liberty International Airport. Media attending the event should arrive at the lower level of Terminal C at 1 p.m. The band will march through Terminal C and then take AirTrain Newark to Terminal B, then to Terminal A.
