Port Authority and Army Corps of Engineers staff will join members of the New York and New Jersey Congressional delegations on Monday, May 2, to announce the grand opening of a multimillion-dollar project that will allow the Port of New York and New Jersey to attract more international cargo to the region. The project will result in significant economic activity and job growth for the region. A boat tour with visuals of the harbor will be provided after the speaking program.
The event will be held at 11 a.m. at Berth 50 at the Elizabeth-Port Authority Marine Terminal in Elizabeth, N.J. Media attending the event must have proper credentials.
Directions to Berth 50: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 14, Port Newark. Bear left after the toll plaza and follow signs for Port Newark. Proceed through the traffic light. Follow signs for Corbin Street. Bear right onto Corbin Street Bridge. Continue for one-half mile after the third traffic light (Tyler Street), and turn right into a parking lot for Berth 50.
